Today is all you get
Life is but a series of todays. All you can touch is today, the present.
Later is an intention sink. If you don't care enough about something to do it today, think carefully whether you'll care enough to to it on a future today.
Life is made up of days just like this one. The future isn't some magical period of maximum agency, energy, and effort. You'll be just as distracted, scatterbrained, and lazy as today. Don't delude yourself otherwise.
When you internalize this, today becomes an escape from the uncertainty, the unknowing, the infinite possibility. All that's really tangible to you is today. So just think about today. Zero in on how you'd like to spend this today in front of you (and within it, this hour in front of you, etc.). To Catch Time, Worship the Day
