Laban Movement Analysis
Framework for describing and understanding movement, based on the efforts of Rudolf Laban, a movement theorist/choreographer/dancer. Has applications in dance, music, theatre.
Movement is broken down into four component parts:
- Direction (either direct or indirect)
- Weight (either heavy or light)
- Speed (either quick or sustained)
- Flow (either bound or free)
